Job Description

As an Assistant Property Manager, you will assist the Property Manager in overseeing and managing residential or commercial properties. Your responsibilities will include administrative tasks, tenant relations, property maintenance, and financial management. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that properties operate smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Tenant Relations:
    • Assist in screening and selecting tenants.
    • Address tenant inquiries, concerns, and requests promptly and professionally.
    • Oversee the move-in and move-out processes, including inspections and security deposit handling.
  2. Lease Management:
    • Assist in drafting and executing lease agreements.
    • Ensure lease compliance and enforce lease terms.
    • Track lease expirations and renewals.
  3. Property Maintenance:
    • Coordinate and oversee property maintenance and repairs.
    • Schedule and supervise contractors and vendors.
    • Conduct regular property inspections to identify maintenance needs.
  4. Financial Management:
    • Assist in rent collection and ensure timely payments.
    • Help prepare and manage property budgets.
    • Track and report on property income and expenses.
  5. Administrative Tasks:
    • Maintain organized and accurate records, including tenant files, lease agreements, and financial documents.
    • Assist in preparing and distributing notices and communications.
    • Handle administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and correspondence.
  6. Marketing and Advertising:
    • Assist in marketing vacant properties, including creating listings and coordinating showings.
    • Maintain online property listings and advertising platforms.
  7. Compliance and Regulations:
    • Ensure properties comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
    • Stay up-to-date with property management laws and regulations.
  8. Emergency Response:
    • Be available for after-hours emergencies and coordinate emergency responses as necessary.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus).
  • Prior experience in property management or a related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of property management software and tools.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with local rental laws and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset.
